TABB Technician, TABB Supervisor exams now available for beta testing

ICB recently updated the TABB Certification written exams, including a review and revision of the Job Task Analysis (JTA) that includes the development of updated examination items for both the TABB Technician and Supervisor exams. The exam contents are derived from SMACNA standards that are listed in the TABB Technician and TABB Supervisor Test Blueprint in the updated JTA.

Given the introduction of new exam items, the TABB Technician and Supervisor exams are now available for beta testing.

A beta test is a pre-release version of an exam that is still in the testing phase. Beta test candidates’ performance on the exams will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the exam content and structure.

As a beta test candidate, your valuable insights will help refine and enhance the exam content and structure for the final exam forms.

Please note that ICB exams that are currently in the beta testing stage will not receive immediate results upon completion of the beta exam. Once enough beta exams have been administered and analyzed, the ICB will determine the passing score. Candidates who have taken the TABB Technician and Supervisor exams in beta form will then receive results indicating either a pass or fail status once the passing score has been established.

The TABB Technician and Supervisor written beta exams will consist of approximately 150 test questions, with no imposed time limit for completion.

The ICB is currently updating the TABB Technician practical exam, and we will provide status updates as soon as they become available.

Thank you for your patience, support, and commitment to excellence as we work together to enhance the TABB Certification process. Your contributions play a crucial role in the ongoing improvement of our certification process.

Please contact Cassadra Kline, director of certification, at ckline@icbcertified.org with any questions.
