Indoor Air Quality Certification

Perhaps one of the most important areas of the sheet metal industry is that of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). IAQ describes the condition of the air inside a building. It affects the comfort and health of the people in the building, thereby affecting their productivity and well being. As you are well aware, HVAC systems are a key part in determining the condition of the indoor air. These systems must be designed and properly installed to have acceptable IAQ. But even well designed and installed systems will not provide acceptable IAQ if they are not properly operated and maintained. And this is where you, the HVAC professional, comes in.

You will most likely be the first person to look inside HVAC systems and ducts, mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, outdoor air intakes and basements – and that makes you the only person likely to find something that might cause and IAQ problem.

This certification is offered at two levels:  IAQ Technician and IAQ Supervisor.  The IAQ Supervisor program is currently in pilot production.  IAQ Technician certification is available NOW through TABB/ICB.  Visit them online at www.tabbcertified.org.
